DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1 --ARRIVE IN ROME. This evening we will have a welcome dinner followed with Rome by night tour. Lodging at the Hotel Locarno or similar-- Hotel is a 5 min walk from the Spanish steps, 1 minute from Piazza del Popolo and the Borghese gardens.
DAY 2 -- FULL DAY TOUR OF ROME -- Including Ancient Rome and the Colosseum with expert local guide and VIP Tickets
This tour focuses historic Rome and highlights some of the most important historical features of ancient Rome. It includes entrance tickets to the Collosseum and the Roman Forum as well as St. Peter in Chain. Overnight at Hotel Locarno. More details....
DAY 3 -- PRIVATE TOUR OF VATICAN CITY - Early morning private tour of Vatican City including St. Peter's Cathedral, Sistine Chapel, and Vatican Museums. NOTE - THERE WILL BE OVER 5 KM OF WALKING ON THIS TOUR AND NO WAY TO MAKE SPECIAL ACCOMODATIONS. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ARRANGE A DIFFERENT TOUR. Afternoon at leisure for shopping in Rome and then dinner in local Roman trattoria. Overnight at Hotel Locarno.
DAY 4 -- PRIVATE TRANSFER FROM ROME TO FLORENCE AND WELCOME DINNER -- via the regions of Tuscany and Umbria. Time to settle in, in Florence before meeting this evening for a wonderful welcome dinner in a local Florentine trattoria. Wine included this evening of course! Overnight in Florence at the Hotel Pendini Florence.
DAY 5 - PRIVATE HISTORICAL WALKING TOUR OF FLORENCE This morning after breakfast your English speaking guide will be there to meet you at your hotel to begin our walking tour of Florence which will introduce you to some of the most beautiful works of art and architecture in the world. Over the course of the day you will visit one of Europe's largest churches, Santa Maria Del Fiore with incredible views all over Florence, Piazza Santa Croce, Piazza delle Signorie and the Accademmia gallery where Michelangelo's David is housed. Lunch is included today, close to the San Lorenzo market. Dinner this evening is on your own at leisure, though we do have some great options for all budgets in Florence! Overnight in Florence
DAY 6 - LEGACY OF THE MEDICI & THE BOBOLI GARDENS - EVENING PIZZA AND GELATO COOKING CLASS
This morning after breakfast we will head over to Pitti Palace, one of the Medici family's largest and most beautiful palaces in Florence, which is also the entrance way to the Boboli gardens, which are said to be one of the finest examples of Renaissance Italian Gardens in Europe, where you will enjoy with your guide a tour of the Boboli gardens and the Medici palaces. Break for lunch and some free-time on your own for shopping and should you wish visiting the Uffizi galleries. In the evening, we meet you at the hotel at approx 6 PM where we will head over to our Tuscan pizza and gelato laboratory where the group will enjoy our Pizza and gelato course that will be served as dinner this evening. Overnight in Florence.
DAY 7 -- LEANING TOWER OF PISA AND WALLED CITY OF LUCCA - Departing Florence today we head firstly to Pisa, where you will have time to view the Leaning tower of Pisa and take some fun photos, even walk up the tower if you wish. Following Pisa, we head to Lucca where your guide will take you to experience what is known as the "City of Music" which also offers great shopping. In Lucca, you will have free time for lunch, before we head to the Villa Casas Grande, where you will enjoy this evening a wine tasting in their cellar followed by a lovely Tuscan meal at the estate.

DAY 8 -- CHIANTI WINE REGION SIENA - SAN GIMIGNANAO & VOLTERRA - Following buffet breakfast at the hotel this morning, we head to Siena where you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the city with a local English speaking guide. Following the tour in Siena we head to the Tenuta Torciano winery where you will enjoy a light lunch and some wine tastings.
We then head to Volterra, one of the highest Etruscan settlements in Tuscany which offers amazing views over the Tuscan landscape below and from Volterra we head to San Gimignano where you will have time on your own to shop, climb the towers and enjoy the spectacular view overlooking the town. In the evening, we return to the villa Casas Grande. Dinner at leisure either at the estate or in town. Overnight at the Villa Casa Grande.
DAY 9 -- SOUTHERN ITALY WINE TOUR INCLUDING MONTALCINO, MONTEPULCIANO & PIENZA -- This morning after breakfast we head to the Val D'Orcia, which is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the most important wine producing areas in Italy, known particularly for the Vino Nobile and Brunello di Montalcino wine varieties. Today you will get to visit the Col D'Orcia winery just outside of Montalcino and enjoy a wonderful tour of this incredible estate, followed by a visit to Montalcino where you can visit the fortress and purchase even further wines from the region from a variety of Enotecas that can also ship your wine home. Following Montalcino, we head to Pienza for a brief walk around the town, prior to heading to Montepulciano that is the center of the Vino Noble territory where we will visit another winery to enjoy tastings. Return to the Villa Casa Grande in the evening for dinner either at the estate or in town. Overnight at the Villa Casa Grande.
DAY 10- FULL DAY COOKING IMMERSION AT THE VILLA CASA GRANDE -- This morning after breakfast and a bit of free time, we will begin our cooking class in the mater Tuscan kitchen where we will begin preparations for an immersive cooking program. The foods we prepare today will be served as lunch of course with the finest wines! Take the afternoon to release after a full week of touring, enjoy the spa, take a walk through the town or enjoy a few Etruscan beauty treatments. Overnight at the Villa.
DAY 11 - PERUGIA & ASSISI WITH VISIT TO PERUGINO CHOCOLATE FACTORY EN-ROUTE TO ROME
Following breakfast this morning we depart Tuscany for the region of Umbria to experience some of the finest chocolate in Italy in Perugia and then to the beautiful town of Assisi which St. Francis made so famous enroute to Rome. In Perugia, you will be able to enjoy one of the best chocolate factories in Italy where the Perugiono chocolate is made and here you can buy some wonderful chocolate gifts. Following Perugia we head to Assisi where you will have some free time for shopping and lunch and should you wish the possibility to enter the basilica of San Francesco di Assisi. In the afternoon we head to our Rome airport hotel for a Farewell dinner and prepare to depart for home.
